What Hands of Compassion is doing
65,000 people live in basic mud houses in Chipulukusu, a large shanty compound near Ndola, Zambia. We set up a community school for orphaned and vulnerable children in Chipulukusu, providing basic education to over 500 children.
'Roderick' is 8 years old.
Both his parents have died and he has been left with his younger brother in the care of 'Joseph', his grandfather. It seemed as if there was no hope to cling to, but now he attends Hands of Compassion Community School and feels life is worth living again. "I like going to school and want to be a teacher when I grow up."
Giving hope to these children in their lives rather than see the heartache they live with daily, struggling and not knowing how they will survive. Living in houses that have roofs which leak, they are hungry, they have few clothes that are already torn, many don't even have blankets.
Please sponsor a child .......
Hands of Compassion provides education free for children up to Grade 7, whereupon the pupils then take a Government examination. If they pass, funds permitting, we sponsor them onto Grade 8 to 12.
But it costs approximately £100 to cover school fees, uniform, shoes, books etc for each pupil.
Can you sponsor a child and give them a chance in life?
